School nutrition software adoption doesn’t end when implementation is complete. Getting a new system up and running is an important step, but it’s only the beginning of making the software part of a team’s everyday work.

Once implementation is complete, teams still have to fit the software into their daily routines, help staff learn new processes, and find the features that’ll make the biggest difference for their program.

Sometimes that means moving away from an outdated process. Other times, it means helping managers use the system more consistently or finally learning a feature the team didn’t have time to explore during implementation.

That’s where Darcy Burt comes in.

Darcy joins Health-e Pro as a Senior Customer Success Manager with 20 years of experience in school nutrition, compliance, software implementation, and nutrition counseling.

Throughout her career, she’s worked with school nutrition programs from several different perspectives. She’s conducted reviews on behalf of state agencies, helped implement school nutrition software, supported Health-e Pro customers, and worked with people to identify challenges and reach their goals.

That experience helps Darcy understand both the technical side of school nutrition software and the people and processes behind it.

Now, she’s helping Health-e Pro customers move beyond implementation, make the software part of their everyday work, and get more value from the tools they already have.

Darcy’s Background in School Nutrition and Compliance

After earning her degree in Nutrition, Darcy began working for a company that contracted with state agencies to conduct school nutrition reviews.

That role gave her a firsthand look at school nutrition compliance from the reviewer’s perspective. She saw how many details districts have to manage and how challenging it can be to keep menus, documentation, production records, and other program requirements aligned.

Darcy later worked with multiple school nutrition software systems and helped states implement new technology.

Through that work, she learned that successfully adopting software takes more than turning it on and showing users where to click. Teams need time to adjust their processes, understand how the system fits into their work, and help staff use it consistently.

Darcy also spent time as a Health-e Pro contractor, supporting customers who were using some of the earliest versions of the software. She’s watched Health-e Pro grow over the years and has seen how the tools and user experience have continued to improve.

That history gives her a valuable perspective as she helps customers use Health-e Pro today.

What Darcy Has Learned About School Nutrition Software Adoption

Darcy knows school nutrition teams are busy.

They’re managing menus, production records, staffing challenges, product changes, regulations, and the day-to-day work of feeding students. Even when new software can ultimately make the work easier, finding time to learn and fully adopt it isn’t always easy.

That’s why Darcy believes customer success should continue well beyond onboarding.

As a Senior Customer Success Manager, she helps customers look at how they’re using Health-e Pro, where their team may be getting stuck, and which tools could make their work easier.

That could mean focusing on a few key features instead of trying to learn everything at once. It could mean finding a better workflow, helping staff use the system more consistently, or discovering a feature the team didn’t know was available.

Darcy’s goal is to help each customer build on what they already know and make Health-e Pro a useful part of their everyday work.

How Darcy’s Counseling Experience Shapes Customer Success

Darcy also spent several years working in nutrition counseling, helping clients identify their goals, understand their challenges, and decide what steps to take next.

That experience taught her how important it is to listen before offering a solution. She learned how to identify pain points, understand what someone is trying to accomplish, and help them decide what steps make sense next.

She brings that same approach to her work with school nutrition teams.

Every program operates differently. A small district may have very different staffing, processes, and priorities than a district managing dozens of schools. Darcy takes time to understand how each team works, where they’re getting stuck, and what they’re hoping to improve.

She wants customers to understand not only how a feature works, but also why it may be useful for their program.

By building an ongoing relationship with each customer, Darcy can provide guidance that fits the district instead of offering the same answer to everyone.

Finding Everyday Value in Health-e Pro

Having worked with several school nutrition software systems, Darcy understands how much small improvements can matter during a busy school day.
She’s been impressed by the growth of Health-e Pro’s search tools and overall user experience.

One of her favorite features is Recipe Box, where users can save recipes as favorites and quickly return to the items they use most often.

It may seem like a small feature, but saving a few steps on something a team does every week can add up over time.

That’s the kind of value Darcy wants to help customers find. It may come from learning a new feature or simply finding a better way to use a tool they already have.

Her goal is to help customers find those opportunities so their software investment continues to support their program long after implementation.

Supporting School Nutrition Customers Beyond Implementation

Darcy’s background reflects Health-e Pro’s commitment to providing more than generic software support.

We also know teams don’t get every bit of value from new software on day one. Programs change. Staff change. New features are released. What worked when a district first implemented Health-e Pro may not be the best way to work a year or two later. That’s why the customer relationship continues after onboarding.

Our customers work with people who understand the complexity of school nutrition, including compliance, implementation, changing regulations, staff training, and the challenge of introducing new processes into an already busy program.

Darcy brings that understanding into every customer conversation.

She knows successful software adoption doesn’t happen all at once. It happens over time as teams become more comfortable, improve their processes, and find new ways to use the tools available to them.

We’re excited to welcome Darcy to the Health-e Pro team and see how her experience helps customers build confidence with the software, find solutions that work for their programs, and spend more time focused on feeding students.
