It’s almost time to set out on our National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) journey: the Quest for School Breakfast! From March 2–6, 2026, Health-e Pro is celebrating school breakfast and how it helps students start the morning strong and stay focused in the classroom.

NSBW is a great chance to highlight the breakfast your team serves every day. It’s also a great reminder to students and families that breakfast is available at school. The best part is it doesn’t have to be complicated. A few creative ideas can help the week feel special without creating extra work.

From Wizard’s Waffles and Princess Crown Pancakes to Tower Yogurt Parfaits and Moat Oatmeal Bowls with Berries, Health-e Pro is adding a little fun to student-favorite breakfasts while keeping menu planning simple and compliant.

Easy Ways to Bring the NSBW Theme to Life

NSBW doesn’t have to add extra stress to your already busy week. Here are a few creative, easy ways to bring the NSBW theme to life.

Feature a new recipe and spotlight student favorites using themed names. This can be as simple as keeping the same recipe and giving it a fun name for the week. You can also try one new menu item, like Forbidden Fruit and Yogurt Roll-Ups. With 5,000+ USDA-compliant, student-favorite recipes in Health-e Pro, it’s easy to find something that works for your program.

Use serving line signs that call out themed or new menu items. A quick sign like “Today’s Breakfast Quest: Wizard’s Waffles” with images can help students see what’s being served.

Make simple decorations using #10 cans or cardboard boxes. Paint a castle on cardboard and cut it out. Turn #10 cans into “castle towers” by wrapping them in construction paper and adding paper flags. Or you can draw or paint shields and crowns to decorate your serving lines.

Share breakfast photos on social media to promote what’s being served. A photo of the breakfast line or a featured item works great. You can also share action shots and students’ smiling faces with permission.

Include NSBW shout outs in morning announcements. A short message can highlight the featured breakfast options and build excitement around the celebration.

Encourage student participation with a fun competition and prizes. The class with the highest breakfast participation across the week could win a pizza party. You can also let students vote on their favorite NSBW-themed menu item and announce the winner at the end of the week!
