We’re excited to introduce Megan Claysen, MS, RD, LDN, Health-e Pro’s Midwest Regional Sales Manager. If you’ve stopped by our booth at a Midwest show this year, there’s a good chance you’ve already met her. She brings real-world school nutrition experience, a research and counseling background, and a love for connecting with industry professionals.

Like many on the Health-e Pro team, she has sat in the same seats as the K–12 directors and menu planners she now supports. She knows what their days are like and is always looking for practical ways Health-e Pro can take some of the pressure off.

What Drew Megan to Health-e Pro’s Menu Planning Software

Megan first got to know Health-e Pro as a user. She found that the software was easy to use and made menu planning feel a lot less complicated. During onboarding, she appreciated how quick the Health-e Pro team was to respond and how willing they were to help with any questions.

What stood out most to Megan was that the people behind the software had real school nutrition experience. Health-e Pro is built and supported by former directors, dietitians, and menu planners who understand the day-to-day challenges because they’ve lived them. When the opportunity came up to join Health-e Pro, it felt like the right next step in her K–12 school nutrition career.

Stepping Into School Nutrition Software Sales

Coming from research and working for a foodservice management company, sales was new to Megan, but it didn’t take long for her to realize how much she enjoys it.

Her favorite part of the role is connecting with school nutrition professionals, hearing about their challenges, and showing them how Health-e Pro can make their work easier and more efficient. Seeing them feel less stressed and more supported has become one of the most rewarding parts of her job.

At a recent state conference, a new Food Service Director shared how anxious they felt about an upcoming administrative review and pulling together all the required paperwork. Megan walked them through the EZ Admin Review Report in Health-e Pro and showed how it automatically pulls CN labels, Product Formulation Statements, and Buy American documentation into one place.

Seeing that everything they needed was already organized and easy to access eased their concerns and helped them feel ready for the review. Moments like that remind Megan why she loves working with school nutrition teams in the first place.

Why K-12 School Nutrition Matters to Megan

Megan believes healthy eating habits start at a young age, and school meals play a huge role in that. She is supporting this by:
  • Helping directors instill healthy eating behaviors.
  • Promoting healthy, exciting recipes districts can easily add to their menus.
  • Providing essential data and tools to school nutrition programs.

She knows school meals can get a bad rap and wants to change that. She loves cheering districts on as they try new things on their menus and look for ways to get more students excited about school meals and increase participation.

What’s Next for Megan at Health-e Pro

We’re so glad to have Megan on the Health-e Pro team and to see the impact she’s already having with K–12 school nutrition programs across the Midwest. She is one of many industry experts on our team, alongside former directors, dietitians, menu planners, and operations leaders who have been in your shoes.

Looking ahead, she’s especially excited about the “auto-magic” updates coming to the Health-e Pro software and showing school nutrition professionals how those changes can help them save time, save money, and stay compliant.
