From Health-e Pro emails and blog posts to social media content, Jenna’s work reaches K-12 school nutrition professionals in many different ways.
As Health-e Pro’s Marketing Coordinator, she’s part of the team that creates helpful and engaging content for K–12 school nutrition professionals. Before joining Health-e Pro, she worked as a district Nutrition Specialist and K-12 Menu Planner, so she understands the challenges school nutrition professionals face every day.
Finding a Path in Foodservice and K-12 School Nutrition
Jenna earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Delaware in 2020, then completed the University of Delaware Dietetic Internship Program in 2022.
Her interest in foodservice began in college, where she worked as a Student Manager in the University of Delaware dining hall. That role showed her how much she enjoyed the fast-paced, hands-on work of foodservice.
During her dietetic internship, she completed a rotation at a local school district, where her love for foodservice met her passion for child nutrition. This helped Jenna confirm that she wanted a career that focused on making school meals better for students and easier for the teams who serve them.
Building Experience as a Nutrition Specialist
Before joining Health-e Pro, Jenna spent three years as a Nutrition Specialist at Colonial School District, where she helped manage USDA Child Nutrition Programs across 15 sites, serving over 9,000 K–12 students.
In that role, she developed menus that met USDA meal pattern regulations, created and tested new recipes, and managed student allergies and special diets. That experience helps her create content that reflects the real challenges directors and menu planners face every day.
She also found herself drawn to the marketing side of school nutrition. Jenna updated the Nutrition Services website, took food photos, managed social media accounts, created outreach materials for families, planned themed events, and looked for new ways to boost participation. That combination of operations and storytelling is what eventually led her to marketing at Health-e Pro.
Using Health-e Pro as a Premier Member
While working at the school district, Jenna used Health-e Pro as a Premier member. She was amazed by how much was already available in the database, including 5,000+ recipes, 20,000+ ingredients, Product Formulation Statements, CN Labels, Buy American documentation, and more.
Jenna shared, “Having all of this documentation right at my fingertips made my life as a menu planner so much easier!”
Her experience as a Health-e Pro user showed her that it was more than just another software company. The team truly cares about making school nutrition simple and fun. As someone who loves menu planning and school nutrition, she knew she wanted to be part of a team that shared the same passion.
